a little miu miu inspiration

what started out as a funky pair of bell bottom, capris from another era....turned out to be my new favorite pair of high waisted shorts.
a little shocked to find these babies in a usually overpriced vintage shop in downtown hb. i picked them up for $14...a new zipper and hem job later..voila!! i made a snood with the rest of the material from the legs...look out for it in future post.

you should have seen the line of girls following me around crossroads in la.....waiting for me to put these thrifted dolce vita clog-ish shoes down for their picking. no such luck my friends, sorry. $20 later i was out the door with a grin on my face. i felt that the shorts and shoes were destined to be together!

sooo I recieved a wonderful package in the mail yesterday. my new leopard print jacket from shopnastygal.com ...lovin it! i had to wear it today. i think you'll be seeing me in this a lot.

1 suit 3 ways

I got an amazing vintage wool suit from a thrift store on Tuesday...and it fits perfectly! Which by the way never happens to me. I mean this was a 2 piece suit and both pieces actually fit. 
Impressed with all the re-mixes by my fellow bloggers I thought I would do one as well. This is the 1st way I wore the jacket, kinda mellow with just a tee and jeans......stay tuned for 2 more remixes!
Btw I'm loving pocket swag right now..on everything...skirts...shorts and the obvious, a pair of jeans. I've been using a lot of old necklaces (tarnished and what not) to achieve the look I'm going for. I just put the necklace through 2 of the belt loops and attach the ends.

At least you know

It was so warm and sunny in San Diego on Sunday that I decided to throw on this black knit dress and enjoy the warmth. When we got back to Orange County later in the afternoon I was freezing in this..mental note, Cali weather is difficult to judge..always have a jacket for drops in temperature! Not that it really drops THAT much...I'm just sayin....

Fools Gold

A couple more Amvet purchases...a gold lame dress and a lace corset bustier. I was a little lost as to how to wear the gold dress but I thought it was so goddy that I had to get it and seriously for $2.50 who cares, right? So I decided to pair the 2 together and modernize the dress by bringing up the hem (I just tucked it under the bustier). Any suggestions on what else I can do to the gold dress to make it a little more "now"?
And once again I paired it with my trusty Chuck's....since I didn't pack any other shoes, and H&M beanie cause my hair was...um in need of some friendly shampoo.

Chuck's, San Diego and Shopping!

We headed to San Diego this weekend for some down time with the family and of course a little shopping at the good ol' Amvets. I had a mental list of a few items I wanted..and got pretty much all of it and more!
I decided not to pack anything except what I was already wearing so that I could experiment with whatever I bought. Hence, the Chuck's (they'll be making several visits over the next couple days). You probably didn't know but I'm QUITE the sneaker head. I own at least 15 pairs of Nike's in addition to the collection of Chuck's, Adidas, Vans and Creative Recreation's I have. 
Back to the weekend...my Aunt and Uncle's house in San Diego butts up against a beautiful ravine that lent itself very well to the pics.  Enjoy!

Here's a little pile of my pot o' gold!

I got this dress for $2.50! All tags were 50% off. I had so many sequin dresses in my cart that other people noticed and started handing me any that they came across. Hard part was, finding one that fit. This one fits great, I'm just going to take it up a bit...to the length in these pics (I folded it under for pics).
